Oh yes, and did I mention that my doctor is a complete and utter idiot?? Knowing him, he's probably got the whole thing turned upside down and it wouldn't be a problem for me at all. *sigh*

Don't worry! Mine is a major one that causes me to have acid reflux and (sorry for the TMI) throw up at random and annoying times (anytime I get nervous for one ugh). This is because I was born with mine. Yay me. LOL Some people don't have that problem - I'm sure if your surgeon was worried that fixing yours would cause problems, he'd have either left it alone, or said something to you!

Okay, you've got me a bit worried now. When I came out of surgery, I found out that I had a minor (so minor that I didn't even know I had it!) hiatal hernia around my diaphragm, where my stomach protruded a bit into it. My surgeon fixed it, but didn't say anything to me about it, or about any potential complications. I think I'm going to look into that. So far I have been very, VERY careful to not overeat or overdrink, but I'm sure the potential is there, and I'm sure it'll happen at some point!
And yes, it is true that overeating after a bypass or lap-band can cause vomiting. Since the stomach can't hold an over-abundance of contents, the food has to come back up and out.

Weight loss is hard. It's hard to get it off, and even harder to keep it off. That's why after five years of researching and deliberating, I decided to go ahead and have the surgery. Not being able to eat and potentially not being able to eat certain things ever again does suck, but losing weight, looking better and being healthy means so much more in the end. :)

I love Dollar Tree. I have no shame in admitting that I hit them up for stocking stuffers around the holidays, and for bows, gift tags and clear containers to put cookies and such in. ;) Dan and I also rummaged through a few Dollar Trees when it came to stocking up on the basic cleaning supplies and household essentials for our first few moves. Thankfully by the last move we were pretty much set with everything!

That is what my doctor is thinking is that I was born with mine. I was like that too - got sick if I was tickled, laughed too much, cried too much, etc. That was really interesting on special occasions. I still do it sometimes too. Drives me nuts.

I do plan on going to a specialist as soon as I can find one I don't have get referred to. I got a specialist for my heartburn and lo and behold, I was told I need to be taking Nexium, not Prilosec OTC for my heartburn. Shows what my GP knows.

I have a hiatal hernia. Did you know some children can be born with a hiatal hernia. It sucks. When I was younger, I was ticklish and I got sick when being tickled. I am glad I grew out of that. I have genetic reflux on top of that, so usually if something is so hilarious I get that deep guffaw, not only do I get sick, but I hiccup for what seems ages.... and no normal means helps. Just have to calm down.

Sometimes I think kicking him in the balls would be a great idea. ;) But I do plan on getting at very least, a second opinion. After all, this idiot took my Nexium away from me and then another doctor (specialist) gave it back to me saying I need it. LOL

I would go to a specialist. A general practitioner might not have the special knowledge needed when it comes to things like these, so a specialist is at leas a good thing to try.

Oh gosh, a vacation does sound nice right now but I haven't the money to go on one either. It's pretty saddening but that's just how things are nowadays.

On the flip side, though things may be bad now, they can get better. Here's a piece of advice for you to fathom: If you believe in something enough, it'll come sooner than you imagine. :)
